How to turn a Google review into an Instagram post
A five-star review is the most convincing thing you can post, because it's a customer saying it, not you. But a screenshot of Google Maps looks messy and is hard to read on a phone. A review post puts the words on a photo of the actual job, with your stars, your logo and your phone number.
The animated version reveals the review word by word over a slow move across the photo. Short videos get shown to more people than still images on Instagram and Facebook, so the Reel version is worth posting too.
How it works
- Copy the reviewOpen your Google Business Profile, Facebook page or Yelp, find the review and copy its text. On a phone, press and hold the text to select it.
- Pick the job photoUse a photo of the job that customer is talking about, if you have one.
- Add the customer's nameFirst name and last initial is the usual way: "Brad R."
- Download bothPost the image to the feed and the Reel to Reels and Stories.
Tips
- Shorter reviews read better. If a review is long, use the best two or three sentences.
- Ask the customer before you use their full name. First name and initial is safe.
- Post a review the same week as the job's before and after, so people connect the two.
Questions
Can I use Google reviews on Instagram?
Yes, they're your reviews to share. It's polite to use only the first name and last initial, and to keep the wording exactly as the customer wrote it.
What if the review is very long?
The text size shrinks to fit, up to about 400 characters. For longer reviews, pick the strongest sentences; trimming a review is fine as long as you don't change its meaning.
Is it really free?
Yes. Post images are free and unlimited, with no account. The animated Reel MP4 is free for 3 Reels a month: you enter your email so we can send you the file. Both carry a small “Made with Vizzmo” mark in the corner.
Do I need an account or an app?
No. The post maker runs in your browser, on a phone or a computer. Your business name, phone number, logo and color are saved in that browser, so the next post takes seconds.
What sizes do I get?
The post image downloads at 1080×1350 (4:5 portrait, the tallest size the Instagram feed shows) or 1080×1080 square for Facebook and Google Business Profile. The animated Reel is 1080×1920, ready for Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
